Secondment for more than five years – the National Social Security Office (NSSO) explains its position

The NSSO has explained in what exceptional situations it can, on the basis of a motivated request, give its approval for additional periods of secondment beyond the normal five year limit.

 


Employment in more than one country - place where the employee habitually carries out his work - place of business through which the employee was engaged

European Court of Justice - Also in case of employment in more than one country at the same time, the criterion of "place where the employee habitually works" should in principle apply. The criterion "place of business through which the employee was engaged" is a subsidiary criterion and refers exclusively to the business which engaged the employee.

 


Guidelines of the European Commission following the Test-Achats case

The European Commission has confirmed that second pillar pension schemes may continue to work with gender-based mortality tables. The Commission also clarifies for which "new" individual life insurance contracts unisex premiums and benefits will be mandatory.
